B: 2 Book Recommendations (one self-improvement and one fun)
📚For Self Improvement (on everything): 101 Essays That Will Change The Way You Think by Brianna Wiest
This is a compilation of 101 thought-provoking AF essays. It's a book you keep by your desk and pick up when you need it! Brianna Wiest has quickly become one of my favorite authors for her perspective on emotions, body image, healing, and life. If you’re looking for a desk read you can pick up when you need it – this is your book!
📚For Fun (Thriller): Dark Places by Gillian Flynn
Oh my gosh, my husband and I listened to this on a 15-hour road trip, and it was SO ENGAGING – the road trip flew by. Also, that plot twist at the end 🤯 If you enjoy a twisty thriller with a good plot twist, give this a read!
Quick Synopsis (from Amazon): Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in “The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas.” She survived—and famously testified that her fifteen-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, the Kill Club—a secret society obsessed with notorious crimes—locates Libby and pumps her for details. They hope to discover proof that may free Ben.
Libby hopes to profit from her tragic history: She’ll reconnect with the players from that night and report her findings to the club—for a fee. As Libby’s search takes her from shabby Missouri strip clubs to abandoned Oklahoma tourist towns, the unimaginable truth emerges, and Libby finds herself right back where she started—on the run from a killer.
