Happy T-B-J Tuesday! Here are 3 healthy living Tips, 2 Book recommendations (one self-improvement and one fun), and 1 Journal prompt to ponder this week!
T: 3 Healthy Living Tips
☀️ Binged last night? Try this today: If restricting after a binge was the answer, I wouldn't still be binging. What if today I listen to my body, care for it, and give it what it needs?
☀️Three things I always do to get the most out of my therapy sessions:
- Write down any struggles, emotions, or things I notice between sessions on a note on my phone, so I can remember things to talk about
- I TALK (even if I don't want to) because my therapist can't help me if I don't talk
- If I run out of things to talk about, I ask questions… And this usually opens up a new conversation
☀️You know you’re recovering from binge eating when there is no more eating in secret – you enjoy all foods freely!
B: 2 Book Recommendations (one self-improvement and one fun)
📚For Self Improvement (on Habits): Atomic Habits by James Clear
So I listened to this as an audiobook and bought the book to highlight and make notes. James Clear does a fantastic job at simplifying habits and giving a step-by-step framework for building new healthy habits you will stick to! If you want to build new habits yet can only stick to them for a few days, add this book to your TBR list!
*Note: there is some language on weight and eating in here that I don't love. So take these examples with a grain of salt.
📚For Fun (Romance): Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score
Not going to lie; I bought this book solely because I thought the cover was cute and the synopsis sounded enticing. However, it completely exceeded my expectations. This is a thick book, but it is so engaging I couldn't put it down. The drama, the slight thriller component, the spiciness, the romance… This had a little bit of everything. This is such a fun read; therefore, I recommend it!
Quick Synopsis (from Amazon): Knox doesn’t tolerate drama, even in the form of a stranded runaway bride. Naomi wasn’t just running away from her wedding. She was riding to the rescue of her estranged twin to Knockemout, Virginia, a rough-around-the-edges town where disputes are settled the old-fashioned way…with fists and beer. Usually in that order.
Too bad for Naomi, her evil twin hasn’t changed at all. After helping herself to Naomi’s car and cash, Tina leaves her with something unexpected. The niece Naomi didn’t know she had. Now she’s stuck in town with no car, no job, no plan, and no home with an 11-year-old going on thirty to take care of. There’s a reason Knox doesn’t do complications or high-maintenance women, especially not the romantic ones. But since Naomi’s life imploded before him, the least he can do is help her out of her jam. And just as soon as she stops getting into new trouble, he can leave her alone and return to his peaceful, solitary life. At least, that’s the plan until the trouble turns into real danger.
