Ryann Nicole The Perspective Shift

Hey There, I'm Ryann Nicole.

I’m a recovered binge eater who changed the story from something that happened to me to something that happened for me. Now, I’m a licensed therapist teaching you to do the same.

My mission? To help you ditch food stress and live your life with mental peace and freedom every single day!

The Perspective Shift

Welcome to The Perspective Shift! A weekly newsletter by Ryann Nicole designed to help you see food, your body, and healthy living in a whole new light.

Why Loving Food Isn’t Wrong

I’m just going to say it—this is a stunning picture of the pumpkin bread I made a few days ago (gone now, of course) – don’t you think?! 🎃

Making this reminded me of how much I really love food. Now, I don’t love making it (my husband is the chef), but I do love having other people make it for me—haha! And of course, I love enjoying really good food.

And that got me thinking…

Something To Think About

Somewhere along the way, we’ve been fed this idea that loving food is wrong. That being a “foodie” or enjoying the heck out of your meals means something about you. Maybe it means you’re indulgent, lazy, or don’t have enough willpower. But why can’t loving food just mean… you love food? No different than I love going to bed at 9p 🤷‍♀️

*We talked about this a tonnn in my free live coaching this week. Listen to the replay here!

Something To Reflect On

What’s the belief you hold about loving food? Do you see it as a bad thing or as something neutral that adds joy to your life? Take a minute to think about how that belief was formed. Who or what told you that enjoying food wasn’t okay? How does that belief impact the way you eat and the guilt (if any) you feel after eating foods you love?

Something To Challenge Yourself

Eat more of what you love this week. No guilt, no rules—just enjoy it. Whether it’s that pumpkin bread, your favorite snack, or a meal you’ve been craving, let yourself experience the pleasure of food without any shame.

“The food you eat should be enjoyable, and it should satisfy you. The more you enjoy what you’re eating, the less you’ll obsess about it.”
