About Zoee: Zoee is your average local hypewoman on a journey to finding healing and freedom. She recovered from anorexia and has become very passionate about sharing her story to show that not all eating disorders are visible or “fit the mold.” Through personal experience and everything she has learned during recovery, with some humor of course, Zoee is hoping to help others heal their relationship with self, body, and food while also shutting down diet culture and societal expectations of bodies.

Trigger Warning: In this episode, Zoee will bravely open up about her personal struggles with an eating disorder and abuse. If hearing detailed accounts of either is not supportive to your journey, we encourage you to skip this episode and prioritize your well-being.

QUOTES FROM THE EPISODE

“When you’ve already had these thoughts of my body is wrong, now you’re adding in, I am wrong. I’m not good. So then it’s just, it’s almost like an identity crisis. You’re like, I have no idea who I am. The only thing I can do that I can figure out how to do is to control my food. It’s the only thing I know how to control.”

“I’m taking my body back. It’s no longer somebody else’s. It is mine and only mine. And I get to choose how I want to treat it.”

“I didn’t know that I needed somebody who got it for me to heal.”

“I’m making choices for how do I want to be in three days? Doesn’t have to even be, you know, five years out. Where do I want to be tomorrow? Where do I want to be next week? I get to make those choices. I get to have that freedom to just live.”
