Turning a Snack Bar Into a Balanced Breakfast or Snack

Hey There, I'm Ryann Nicole.

I’m a recovered binge eater who changed the story from something that happened to me to something that happened for me. Now, I’m a licensed therapist teaching you to do the same.

My mission? To help you ditch food stress and live your life with mental peace and freedom every single day!

If you find yourself always saying, “I don’t have time for breakfast in the morning,” then be prepared to be proven wrong! This filling, balanced breakfast bowl features a snack bar typically taken as an on-the-go ‘breakfast’ option by many. (I use quotes because a bar isn’t a meal, but we’re about to make it one 😉) It takes just 5 minutes to make, requires 5 ingredients, and is so delicious!

This specific bowl is peanut butter chocolate flavored, but can easily be swapped out for your favorite flavor combination. Easily adjust to your liking by switching out for a different snack bar flavor. For example, use a blueberry-flavored bar and top with vanilla almond granola for a blueberry-vanilla vibe!

Now, don’t get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with snack bars… I’m not saying you can’t eat them on their own. I love keeping them on-hand in case I need a quick bite between meals. This bowl simply serves as a balanced counterpart to just having a breakfast bar in the morning. We have protein from the yogurt, fat from the nut butter, carbs from the banana, and additional protein/carbs from the bar… Our major macros are all present and accounted for! It is sure to actually keep you full, unlike just a bar that usually leaves me hungry again in an hour or so.

Keeping this introduction short and sweet so we can get to the good stuff 🤩 If you’re ready to repurpose your bars, grab your ingredients and keep scrolling for the details!
