Does anyone else enjoy a bowl of warm oats year-round? I know it's the height of summer now, but I still wake up and crave a warm, cozy bowl of oats in the morning. Today, I'm sharing a simple breakfast recipe that incorporates a summer fruit we all know and love… fresh blackberries. While this combo hits throughout the year, summer is berry season! This means blackberries are at their best and perfect for incorporating into fun recipes, like this one for blackberry walnut oats 🤩
I have shared this before, but I absolutely love a yogurt and oat bowl. This may sound gross at first, but I promise the contrasting temperatures and textures work so beautifully in a bowl together! Not to mention, adding greek yogurt to your bowls is a great way to get some protein in. By combining the two, you strike a nice balance between carbs from the oats and protein from the yogurt that will keep you full longer than just oats would. (To top it all off, we get some fat from the walnuts and peanut butter… chef's kiss!)
✨Disclaimer✨ There is nothing wrong with eating oats alone or eating an “unbalanced” meal. You can absolutely leave the yogurt out! Do what is best for you and your needs at the moment!

Simple Blackberry Walnut Oats
Description
Today, I'm sharing a simple breakfast recipe that incorporates a summer fruit we all know and love… fresh blackberries. While this combo hits throughout the year, summer is berry season! This means blackberries are at their best and perfect for incorporating into fun recipes like this one 🤩
Adding greek yogurt to your bowls is a great way to get some protein in. By combining the two, you strike a nice balance between carbs from the oats and protein from the yogurt that will keep you full longer than just oats would.
Ingredients
Instructions
- cook your oats on the stovetop or in microwave (I like to add cinnamon and a pinch of salt to the oats while cooking for extra flavor)
- microwave your blackberries for 30 seconds until they're a bit melty
- top cooked oats with yogurt, chopped walnuts, warmed blackberries, and peanut butter
- enjoy!
Notes
- Don't have access to fresh berries? No problem, this works just as well with frozen fruit!
