And, you also know that I love incorporating yummy pastries into balanced meals to get both the nourishment I need and the sweet satisfaction I crave! If you find yourself craving a slice of pastry or cookie in the morning but know that that won’t fuel you through your morning on its own, this post is for you. Let me show you how to turn a pastry into a balanced meal or snack together so that you can get the best of both worlds!

One reason I love this method is its versatility. The bowl I show here is just one of an infinite number of combinations you can create. Try a slice of banana bread over vanilla yogurt to switch things up. Or, try a cinnamon muffin over pumpkin yogurt (amazing for this upcoming fall)! Further, the staying power of these bowls is up to you and your toppings game. Want a snack to keep you full? Maybe you use some toppings that feel lighter in your stomach than you would for a meal you want to fuel you through your morning. The power is in your hands!

I want to reiterate that there is NOTHING wrong with eating the pastry, cookie, muffin, etc by itself. Some days, all we want is a warm slice of banana bread, and that’s it. That is more than okay! Balancing out your meals and snacks is a tool, as we say, not a rule. Use this tool when you want to, not because you *have* to.

  1. Add your yogurt to a bowl
  2. Either crumble your pastry over the yogurt or add whole
  3. Add your favorite toppings depending on the flavor combo you’re going for!
  4. Enjoy 🤩
