Listen… yes, I love to make simple meals and snacks using fresh ingredients. But I also am human and don’t always have the time or resources available to do so. Frozen and canned foods are my BFFs during times like these.

There is a lot of noise in the media about how you should never use frozen/canned foods as they contain preservatives etc etc etc… I’m here to tell you that it’s more than okay to use foods that are convenient to you. You don’t have to use fresh ingredients to make a meal that is balanced, satisfying, nourishing, and delicious! Let me show you how to make one of my all-time favorite lunches and, spoiler alert, it is completely made of frozen elements.

I use my favorite Trader Joe’s soup dumpling in this example. However, this can easily be swapped with any other frozen component that adds protein to the mix. Okay, if you’re ready to turn frozen dumplings into a balanced meal that will actually keep you full and satisfied, then keep scrolling! And, as always, you can find more balanced meal inspo on my Instagram @isabels.plate and Tiktok @isabel.megale 😊

P.S. Looking to beat the heat this summer? Check out this simple tropical smoothie that not only taste delish, but looks cute and summery too. I promise this will keep you nice and cool!

P.P.S. If you’re healing your relationship with food, and want additional support, I highly recommend joining Ry’s free support group. Issues with food and body can be so isolating and make you feel as if you’re the only one struggling with this sort of thing. I promise you’re not. Ry’s support group is full of people who truly *get it* because they are in it themselves, working towards freedom. Join the group to connect with, grow with, and support others who are just like you. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone ❤️
